Michael Owen on who will win between Spurs and Everton

Former Liverpool and Manchester United forward Michael Owen has shared his match prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Everton.

Both sides meet at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the final round of fixtures of the Premier League season.

Spurs are all but assured of another campaign of Champions League football unless Everton win and Arsenal produce a miracle away at Burnley to gazump their North London rivals.

The Toffees come into the match having only lost one of their last six matches in the top flight, a surprise loss at relegated Fulham earlier last month.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be high on confidence following their heroics in Amsterdam on Tuesday night.

Owen believes that it will be a case of honours even with both sides playing out a score draw, which would assure Spurs of a top four finish ahead of their huge Champions League final against Liverpool.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs need a point to guarantee their place in the top four for the fourth successive season, but that is all I feel they will get against an Everton side who will be looking to exorcise their 6-2 home defeat from the reverse fixture at Goodison just before Christmas.

“Everton have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 league games, but I feel both sides will find the back of the net at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Prediction: 1-1.”
