Michael Owen on who will win between Spurs and Manchester City

Former Manchester United and Liverpool forward Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Manchester City.

A win for Tottenham could put them back in the running for a top-four finish and narrow Chelsea’s advantage in fourth place to just four points.

Spurs have lost two of their six home league matches under José Mourinho (W4), as many as they lost in their final 15 home games under Mauricio Pochettino (W9 D4).

Mourinho will be once again without the services of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Ben Davies who are all continuing their rehabilitation from their respective injuries (Spurs official).

Tottenham are winless in six Premier League games against Manchester City (D2 L4) since a 2-0 win in October 2016 back at White Hart Lane.

Owen has tipped City to come away from North London with the victory after claiming that Spurs will not be able to match the away side’s quality.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs limped over the line to beat Norwich on home soil in their last league game, but I don’t think they will be a match for City back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

“You must go back to October 2016 for the last time Spurs beat City in the Premier League, although they did famously knock City out of the Champions League on away goals last season.

“The sides shared four-goals at the Etihad in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, but if there are four goals again in the capital on Sunday, I believe City will pick up the lion’s share.

“City to win and both teams to score.”
