Michael Owen on who will win between Tottenham and Newcastle United

Michael Owen has given his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League match against Newcastle United on Sunday.

New Magpies boss Steve Bruce will bring his side to N17 looking to pick up their first point of the season following disappointing displays against Arsenal and Norwich City.

Spurs on the other hand, are still unbeaten in the top flight having picked up four points from the six available.

Mauricio Pochettino is boosted by the return of Heung-min Son after the South Korean completed his three match suspension following his red card against Bournemouth late last season.

The Spurs manager will certainly have a selection headache in who to play in the final third of the pitch with Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Heung-min Son, Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela to choose from.

Owen, who was Newcastle’s former club record signing believes that Spurs will pile more misery on Bruce at the weekend.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs rode their luck at the Etihad at the weekend but played their part in a wonderful game of football and I expect them to have too much quality for a Newcastle side who have disappointed me so far this season.

“The Magpies need more from their expensive signings Joelinton – who spurned a gilt-edged opportunity at Carrow Road – and Miquel Almiron but they may need more time to gel. In the meantime, I can’t see anything other than a comfortable home win.”
