Michael Owen predicts the outcome of the Spurs v Chelsea match

Former England striker Michael Owen has given his view on who he thinks will win the Premier League encounter between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea this evening.

Following the Nations Cup international break it is back down to the nitty gritty of club football and a busy month ahead for Tottenham as they look to challenge on at least three different fronts.

Tottenham have won three of their last seven Premier League games against Chelsea, as many as they’d won in their previous 49 top-flight games against the Blues (W3 D18 L28) and will be looking to continue the reversal of what has been a horrific run of form.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are boosted by the return of Jan Vertonghen following a hamstring injury but will be without Davinson Sanchez, Kieran Trippier, Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose through injury.

Owen, who now works as a television football pundit believes that both sides will share the spoils at Wembley.

He told BetVictor: “None of Spurs’ last 16 PL games has finished in a draw but I think it will be honours even when Chelsea visit Wembley in, arguably, the game of the weekend.

“Chelsea’s title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have already won at Wembley this season, but I feel the hosts will get a draw in what promises to be a feisty London derby.

“Prediction: 1-1.”
