Michael Owen predicts who will come out on top between Aston Villa and Spurs

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of the match between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side make the trip to the Midlands knowing that they have to win to keep in touch with the race for a top four place in the Premier League.

Chelsea, who are in action on Monday night when they host Manchester United could extend their advantage over the North Londoners to seven points with a win and a Spurs defeat.

Spurs confirmed earlier today that they are boosted by the return of Giovani Lo Celso who returned to training this week, but are without Juan Foyth due to a groin problem and joins long-term absentees Moussa Sissoko and Harry Kane on the sidelines.

Owen believes that Tottenham will drop points on Sunday afternoon and will be held to a frustrating goalscoring draw at Villa Park.

He told BetVictor: “Aston Villa have scored in their last nine home league games while Spurs, despite a rare and unlikely shut out of Manchester City last time, are struggling to keep clean sheets and I believe both sides will find the back of the net at Villa Park in what promises to be a close but entertaining game.

“Spurs came from a goal down to win the reverse fixture on the opening weekend, but I feel they may have to settle for a point with Dean Smith’s side fighting for their Premier League lives.”
