Michael Owen shares his Crystal Palace vs Tottenham score prediction

Former Liverpool and Manchester United forward Michael Owen has shared his score prediction ahead of this afternoon’s match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs head into this weekend at the top of the Premier League table having registered three wins and no goals conceded after three outings.

Palace are yet to win in the league this term under new boss Patrick Vieira and drew at West Ham last time out prior to the international break.

Owen believes that Spurs will register their fourth win in succession, by the same scoreline and will look to hit Viera’s side on the counter attack.

Tottenham could earn a 13th top-flight away victory at Palace, the most by any club.

The North Londoners have scored in 18 successive league fixtures, the longest current streak in the top flight and Harry Kane will be looking to open his account in the league this season after hitting the goal trail while on duty with England.

Owen told BetVictor: It’s nine points from nine for Tottenham Hotspur as the Londoners sit pretty at the top of the Premier League. After such a turbulent transfer window, as well as the lengthy process in finding a new manager, who would have guessed they would hit the ground running like this?

“Palace are also under new management, although fortunes haven’t been as kind for Patrick Viera. Their 2-2 draw away to West Ham was a decent enough point to take, but they’ll have to start getting more on the board to calm some nerves.

“This could be tight. I can see Spurs being patient and possibly playing in their counter-attack style which usually brings out the best in Messrs Kane and Son.

“With that in mind, I am going for Spurs to notch yet another 1-0 win.”
