Michael Owen shares his Spurs vs Leeds United score prediction

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League encounter with Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are Tottenham’s first opponents of 2021 with the North Londoners looking to end a run of four top flight matches without a victory.

A draw at Crystal Palace followed by defeats against Liverpool and Leicester City along with a point at Wolves have seen Spurs drop from topping the table at the start of December to their current position of seventh.

Owen believes that Leeds will cause problems for Jose Mourinho’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but fully expects them to end their quest for a victory and return to winning ways.

Owen told BetVictor: “It’s now 4 games without a win for Spurs. Jose Mourinho’s men suffered late heartache against Wolves on Sunday and must get back on track here against Leeds.

“Leeds make the trip to North London for the first time since 2003. They arrive here fresh from a 5-0 win away to West Brom, making it 3 wins in 4 Premier League matches.

“Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been a hard team to get a handle on this season. I reckon they will cause Spurs some problems but considering that they have lost half of their away games in the league, I think Spurs may just have too much here.

“Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Leeds United.”

Spurs fans will be looking to Harry Kane and Heung-min Son to get back on the goalscoring trail, while defensively the team need to be more solid at defending set pieces and stop conceding goals late on in matches, which has proved to be very costly.
