Roberto De Zerbi may be keen to bring a Serie A star to Tottenham this summer, but the new Spurs boss is not expected to get his wish.
Irrespective of whether Spurs stay up or go down, one thing seems certain: there is going to be plenty of changes to their squad this summer ahead of De Zerbi’s first season in charge.
While relegation will force Tottenham to sell many of their highest earners, reports have indicated that Spurs are set to undertake a massive rebuild of their squad if they stay up.
However, the Lilywhites may be disappointed in their quest to bring a goalkeeper through the door this summer.

Roberto De Zerbi favourite Michele Di Gregorio is expected to turn down Tottenham
Guglielmo Vicario has held positive talks with Inter Milan over a summer move, with Tottenham thus likely to be in the market for a new number one this summer.
TuttoSport have now claimed that Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio is on Spurs’ wishlist as a possible replacement for Vicario.
The report claims that the Lilywhites are monitoring Di Gregorio, whom De Zerbi is a big admirer of, but the Spurs boss is about to be disappointed.
This is because they conclude that the 28-year-old goalkeeper ‘only has eyes for the Old Lady’ and has his heart set on remaining in Turin this summer.
Spurs also set to fail in pursuit of De Zerbi midfield target
Di Gregorio is not the only Juvenuts star that the Tottenham boss has his eye on ahead of the summer.
It has been reported that De Zerbi has urged the Spurs hierarchy to prioritise a deal for Manuel Locatelli, as he looks to rebuild the club’s midfield.
However, Fabrizio Romano revealed on Tuesday that the Bianconeri are in advanced talks with Locatelli regarding a new deal.
