‘Mickey Mouse league’ – Pundit makes claim about Kane and Lewandowski

Gabby Agbonlahor has implied Harry Kane is a better striker than Robert Lewandowski, insisting the Bayern Munich superstar is playing in a ‘Mickey Mouse’ league.

The records continue to tumble for Kane, who is showing no signs of slowing down in front of goal while also turning into a top-class playmaker over recent years.

Just recently, the striker overtook both Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry’s Premier League goal tallies, with the Tottenham man now just 82 goals behind Alan Shearer’s record (Premierleague.com).

Kane is also closing on Wayne Rooney’s record tally of 53 goals for England after finding the back of the net for the 49th time for England in their 2-1 win over Switzerland last Thursday (Goal).

Agbonlahor has hinted that it is unfair to compare Lewandowski’s goal record with Kane’s, given that the former plays in the Bundesliga and the latter in the Premier League.

He also insisted that the Tottenham man would score a lot more goals if he was in the Bayern Munich side.

The former Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT: “I feel that Lewandowski is an outstanding striker. His numbers are crazy but, like we said, he’s playing in the ‘Mickey Mouse’ league.

“Compare that to the Premier League with Harry Kane, how many goals has he scored in the Premier League?

“Put Harry Kane in that Bayern Munich frontline, how many does he score?”

Spurs Web Opinion

One can argue that Lewandowski is a better finisher than Kane, although it is close between the two.

However, the Tottenham man is better than the Bayern star at almost every other aspect of his game including hold up play, vision, passing and link-up play.

So while Lewandowski might be a better goal scorer, Kane is, in my opinion, the better footballer.
