Micky Hazard praises Spurs player after Belgium v England clash

Despite England falling to a 2-0 defeat to Belgium in Leuven last night which ended the Three Lions’ hopes of qualifying for the Nations League finals, former Tottenham midfielder Micky Hazard believes Harry Kane and Jack Grealish can hold their heads up high.

Gareth Southgate started with what looked to be quite a defensive set up with Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson sitting in front of the back five, while Kane, Grealish and Mason Mount shouldered almost all of the creative responsibility.

The home side raced into an early 2-0 goal lead and then decided to sit back with men behind the ball for the majority of the encounter.

Kane and Grealish did try to make things happen when they got on the ball and looked dangerous on occasions but Gareth Southgate’s men failed to really test Thibaut Courtois.

Hazard claimed that both the Tottenham striker and Villa midfielder head and shoulders above the rest of their teammates, and another Spurs legend in Graham Roberts agreed with his assessment.
