Micky Hazard takes to Twitter to highlight what Conte got wrong against Chelsea

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Micky Hazard took to Twitter to share his thoughts following the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea.

Tottenham came crashing back down to earth at Stamford Bridge following Wednesday night’s dramatic victory at Leicester City to suffer their fourth defeat of the season to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Hazard believes that Tottenham operated too negatively against Chelsea with Antonio Conte selecting too many defensively-minded players.

Conte had four central defenders in the form of Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies operating as a back four, while Ryan Sessegnon and Matt Doherty played as wingers.

Hazard would have preferred instead to have seen Tottenham take the game to their opponents, believing that they are a better side when they are on the front foot.

Tottenham are not back in action until February 5th when they face Brighton in the FA Cup and have a pivotal week ahead of them with the transfer window set to close on January 31st.

It is evident that we do not have the quality of depth to our squad to be able to make changes when other players are carrying injury issues. A quick glance at the Chelsea bench compared to that of Tottenham’s speaks volumes about just how far apart these two sides are.
