Micky van de Ven has opened up on his major injuries over the last few years and has revealed whether he is worried about the same hamstring problems resurfacing again at Tottenham.
Van de Ven was well on his way to becoming one of the best centre-backs in world football, but his progress has been halted by a series of injuries.
The Netherlands international has already suffered three major hamstring injuries since his move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, in addition to his other minor thigh and hip injuries.
Van de Ven revealed that he has worked with specialists to change his running style in an effort to reduce the strain on his hamstrings, and the defender has now opened up on how he feels about his body.

Micky van de Ven reveals if he is concerned about reinjury
The Dutchman appears to be moving without any discomfort since returning from his latest injury layoff and he has now revealed that he feels very good about where his body is at.
When asked about his fitness, Van de Ven told Football.London: “I’m feeling well. Every week you play a game…normal teams that don’t play Europe, they play like this, so you play on a weekend, have a week off and then play on the weekend again. So, to be honest, I feel good, I feel recovered, and I feel sharp. I’m ready to go.”
The 23-year-old was then asked whether he was worried that the repeated hamstring injuries he’s suffered over the past few years could have a long-term effect on his career.
He responded: “No, not really. I recovered well. Of course, I had some injuries in the last couple of years, but I’m feeling well and I’m not really worried about something for my future.
“I know I train and do everything to make my hamstrings as strong as possible, and the rest of my body also, so I don’t really stress about something for my future.”
Van de Ven hints at potential frustration at selection decisions
Despite Van de Ven’s return to fitness, Ange Postecoglou has continued to use him sparingly over the last few weeks, with the Australian tending to save the defender for big Europa League matches.
However, the Tottenham defender’s response when asked about missing matches suggests that he is not entirely happy to be left out of the starting eleven.
When asked why he is not playing every game if he feels he is at 100 per cent, Van de Ven said: “Why I don’t play every week, that’s not a question you should ask me, you have to ask the gaffer.
“But body-wise I’m feeling really well and really good – why I don’t play every week, you will have to ask the gaffer for this.”
