Dejan Kulusevski has revealed that he pushed for a move to Tottenham Hotspur after hearing about how serious were the north Londoners were to bring him to the club.
The 21-year-old moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on deadline day last month on an 18-month loan deal for which Spurs paid Juventus £8.3million (Evening Standard).
Kulusevski has featured in three matches for Tottenham since completing his switch and is yet to be named in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven, but did find himself in the unusual circumstance of being called upon after just 28 minutes of action on Saturday with his side 2-0 down to Wolves in the Premier League (transfermarkt).
The Swedish international came close to opening his tally for his new club in the second half when his volley fell the wrong side of Jose Sa’s upright.
Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici is familiar with the Juventus squad, having been at the Old Lady for eleven years before making the move to England (Athletic).
Kulusevski admitted that the deal moved quickly and became keen to join Tottenham after talks between the two clubs progressed.
He told Swedish outlet Viaplay: “You hear when teams are interested, but it’s still a long way until there are concrete offers.
“As it got more serious, I liked the idea more and more.
“I pushed to get here.
“It went very fast, from one day to another. I was just happy, because this is what I wanted.”

Kulusevski almost single-handedly keeping Parma up during his loan spell there but found the same level of success at Juventus hard to replicate.
His ability to played as a winger, a No 10 and a false nine will naturally appeal to Antonio Conte but his lack of pace and tendency to cut back in on his left foot while playing on the right makes it relatively easy to predict what he is going to do with the ball.
