Midfielder reveals Tottenham Hotspur Stadium feels like home already

Harry Winks has revealed that the Spurs squad have got used to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the venue now feels like home.

It has been over a year since the stadium first opened last April and the venue has failed to be the fortress that the club would have hoped it would be compared to the last season at White Hart Lane.

The team has experienced mixed results at the venue and are seemingly still adapting to their new surroundings.

Fans, however, have little to complain about as the new 62,303-capacity venue boasts of some unique features which improve the fan experience, including the closeness of the fans to the pitch and an array of food and drink outlets.

Winks has revealed that the venue also has some great benefits for the players as well when they prepare for games.

He told Sky Sports: “The changing rooms are massive! It’s huge, it’s got everything in there. A nice big physio room, a nutritionist room, a big gym for us to do our pre-game stuff, a kit room, the manager’s room, a nice dining suite where we can have our food, and a lounge area where we can relax before an evening game as well.”

Tottenham will be looking to put their patchy form at their new home right when the season resumes and Winks insisted that the stadium already feels like home.

The England midfielder added: “It’s a nice big stadium and a nice comfy area to relax, especially for a big game. It just feels like our home. We’ve only been there a year, but it feels like our home already.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Almost every opposition player and fan who comes to the stadium seems to rave about it, which tells you all that you need to know about how special the venue is. Hopefully, we can make it a real fortress next season and a place where teams hate coming to. However, it does seem like it is going to be a while before fans can reenter the ground again.
