Lucas Bergvall is on the end of some nasty tackles

However, the Sweden international has admitted that he is now being targetted by opposition players on a regular basis after having made the big move to Spurs.

When asked about nasty tackles he is receiving, Bergvall told Fotbollskanalen: “Yes, of course it has become more. Absolutely. People probably want to push me now that I’ve signed for Tottenham. But that’s how it’ll be. You just have to get used to it. It won’t be less in the future.”

Djurgardens head coach Thomas Lagerlof is not happy with the way the midfielder is being treated by opposition teams and urged match officials to protect the youngster while also calling on the teenager to do more to protect himself.

He said: “We have been preparing him for this since last year. Many people know that he is a good player who is also young, so many want to step up and make their mark.

“It’s clear that he has to be aware of that. If he’s to become a really good footballer, because he’s already very good, then he will have to learn even more to find simple solutions so that opponents can’t get at him. It’s important that he can protect himself.”
