Tottenham Hotspur may have received a boost in their rumoured chase for Gerson after reports in Brazil claim that the Flamengo midfielder is keen on a move to Spurs.
Gerson has managed to rebuild his career in Brazil following a disappointing spell in Italy and his performances for the past couple of seasons are said to have once again have made clubs in Europe sit up and take notice.
It was reported earlier in the week that Tottenham had made a bid of around £16million for the 23-year-old.
However, it was suggested that the Flamengo were likely to reject the offer and Gerson himself was keen to continue at the club following their title triumph.
Gerson, who is said to have previously rejected an approach from Arsenal, is reportedly keen to prove himself in European football following his poor spells at Roma and Fiorentina.
It is claimed that the Brazilian perfectly fits the profile of the kind of player Jose Mourinho wants to bring in to reinforce the Tottenham midfield.

Gerson actually has a bit of a Dembele about him in the way he plays. Not only is he really strong and a tremendous athlete but he also seems quite adept at playing himself out of tight areas. However, there is certainly a question mark as to his ability to adapt to the Premier League.
