Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the worst teams in the Premier League when it comes to creating chances so far this season.
While Roberto De Zerbi’s sides are known for playing free-flowing football and creating a lot of chances, that is not what we have seen this season.
While the build-up play from the back has been impressive at times, when it comes to creating chances, the Lilywhites are not doing much better than what they did under Thomas Frank last season.
Tottenham have failed to score for the first four games of a league season for the first time in their 144-year history, and the numbers behind their start to the season are extremely worrying.

According to StatMuse, Spurs have managed a total xG of just 3.26 across their four Premier League matches so far this season.
That is the third-lowest across the Premier League, with only Newcastle United and Coventry City (who have played just three matches at the time of writing) having a lower score.
Worryingly, Tottenham have conceded an xG of 8.05, which is the highest so far. That means that Spurs are creating the fewest chances while conceding the most so far.
Tottenham fans will also be concerned to learn which players those few chances are falling to.
Centre-back tops xG list for Spurs this season
Concerningly, the chances that Tottenham are creating are not always falling to their forwards. According to FotMob, Micky van de Ven has the highest xG of any Spurs player this season at 0.6.
The man in third place is Mikey Moore with an xG of 0.4, which is also concerning considering that the teenager left to join Koln on loan two matches ago.
The numbers thus seem to be suggesting that something drastic has to change for Tottenham to start scoring and winning matches.
