Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has backed his international teammate Dusan Vlahovic, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, to become one of the greats of the game.
According to reports in Italy, Antonio Conte has been assured by the Tottenham hierarchy that they are committed to trying to Vlahovic.
The Fiorentina star is also thought to be on Juventus’ radar but the Old Lady are said to be concerned that Spurs might pip them to the 21-year-old’s signature (TuttoJuve24).
The Serbian international has been on fire for the Viola this season, having bagged eight goals from 12 Serie A matches so far.
Tottenham are alleged to be in pole position to land Vlahovic in January, with the Lilywhites said to be ready to offer Fiorentina ‘a lot of cash’ for the striker.
Milinkovic-Savic is certainly confident that his international teammate is worth a fortune, with the midfielder backing Vlahovic to become one of the very best in the game.
The Lazio midfielder told FIFA about the Fiorentina star: “Good? He’s not good, he’s outstanding. I’m quite certain the stats would back that up, considering his age.

“However, I think he’s the type of player who still gets annoyed when he doesn’t play well, so he’s definitely going to get better and get the world talking about him, which is something I like about him.
“In both training and matches, he never takes it lightly when he misses a chance, so he has a hunger for scoring goals and winning. I like how he wants to prove himself, so I think he’s bound to become one of the greats.”

Although Vlahovic might be expensive in January, it seems fairly evident that the Serbian international’s value is only going to skyrocket over the next few years as he has a very high ceiling. One would expect a whole host of clubs to be competing for the centre-forward when the transfer window reopens.
