Millwall boss reveals how long Troy Parrott is likely to be injured for

Millwall boss Gary Rowett has revealed that Troy Parrott could be out for more than two weeks after the striker picked up an ankle injury during the Carabao Clash against Burnley last week.

Parrott did not have the best of starts to his loan spell at the Den as he suffered a quad injury in pre-season that ruled him out of Millwall’s first few games of the campaign.

The teenager finally made his long-awaited debut against Burnley last Wednesday but he was withdrawn at half time as Sean Dyche’s man ran out 2-0 winners.

Rowett later confirmed that the striker had received a knocl on his ankle during the first half of the game which affected his mobility and hence had to be taken off (South London Press).

The Lions boss has now revealed that the club are waiting for the results of Parrott’s scan but admitted that he does not expect the 19-year-old to be involved for the next couple of weeks.

Speaking after Millwall were held to 1-1 draw at home by Brantford on Saturday, Rowett told News at Den: “Troy’s still swollen. We’re still waiting on the scan results, so we don’t know definitively where he’s at.

“I think it’s going to be a little bit more than two weeks, the way it looks. We’ll get clear news on that over the next half a week.”

Goalscorers, more than anybody else, are reliant on rhythm and confidence. So, a few goals early in the campaign would have done Parrott a lot of good. Hopefully, it is not too long before he breaks his duck in the Championship and gets a run of games under his belt.
