Mings reveals what he said to Harry Kane after Aston Villa final whistle

Tyrone Minds has revealed what he said to Tottenham’s Harry Kane after the full-time whistle at the weekend when the Lilywhites faced a trip to Aston Villa.

Spurs came out on top in the Premier League clash, with Kane scoring the second goal of the evening from the spot after Carlos Vinicius had netted his first-ever Premier League goal.

Mings told the ITV Football Podcast that it was strange going from defending against Kane on Sunday to being England teammates less than 24 hours later.

The Villa defender seemingly switched straight to England mode after the full-time whistle was blown, as he asked Kane whether he was going all the way back to London only to come back the next day.

Apparently, Kane revealed that he would be staying the night after the game to meet up with the England squad the following morning as the Three Lions prepare for three World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland.

Mings said (ITV Football Podcast): “I asked if he was going all the way back to London to then travel back up the next day and he said ‘no’. I think he stayed up after the game.

“It is a strange thing to play so late on a Sunday and then meet up on a Monday, after what happened!”
