‘Miss you so much’ – Eric Dier sends message to recently departed Spurs star

Eric Dier has congratulated Erik Lamela on winning the Puskas Award and admitted to the Argentine that he misses him.

Lamela departed Tottenham in the summer after eight seasons at the club, with the midfielder moving to Sevilla as part of the deal that brought Bryan Gil to Spurs.

The Argentine perhaps did not fulfil his potential in North London, partly due to his injury owes but he did produce some moments of magic in a Spurs shirt.

The Rabona he scored in the North London derby last year would certainly rank among the best moments Lamela produced at Tottenham.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old ended up being sent off in the second half of that game as Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners.

However, that does not take away from the audaciousness of the goal and Lamela’s brilliant striker deservedly won the Puskas Award.

Dier took to social media to congratulate his former teammate on winning the prize.

The centre-back wrote on his Instagram story: “Congrats bro. We miss you so much.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We have certainly lost much more important players than Lamela over recent years in the form of Dembele, Eriksen, Walker, Vertonghen etc. However, there is no one that I miss more than the Argentine. I loved the passion with which he played and the cult figure he became among the fan base.
