Luka Modric has spoken of his desire to take Spurs to Wembley this season and has targeted FA Cup glory.

Spurs face Fulham in their quarter-final replay on Wednesday, having been held to a scoreless draw at Craven Cottage.

Should they progress, Spurs would face Portsmouth at Wembley in the semi-finals and Modric is confident in the team’s ability to overcome both sides and secure a place in the finals.

He told skysports, “We are very confident, especially because we are playing at home against Fulham.

“We are a better team than Fulham, but we have to show that on the pitch.

“I hope we can win and go into the semi-final against Portsmouth. Our road is open to go to the final, but it will not be easy.

“I believe in us and our quality and I believe we can beat Fulham and go to Wembley.

“Wembley is a great motivation for all players. It is the best stadium in the world and it is unbelievable feeling playing there.

“Every player wants to come there and play, especially when you are fighting for trophies.”

Modric has claimed there is no reason why Spurs can’t also push on and claim the final Champions League qualification position in the league.

“I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t do that.

“We have some injuries to important players, but I hope they will soon be back and I think we can cope with the challenges of playing in the FA Cup and Premier League.

“It will not be easy, but I think we can handle that.”
