Madrid duo would welcome Modric arrival

Luka Modric would be a welcome acquisition to the Real Madrid squad according to two of their players.

The Tottenham midfielder wants to leave White Hart Lane for pastures new this summer and Madrid are said to be the front runners for the Croatian who is valued at around £30million by Daniel Levy.

From our perspective when Modric leaves it should be to a club abroad. It makes no sense for us to strengthen a Premier League rival with such a quality player when our aims are to finish the campaign with Champions League football. If he leaves he needs to pack his bags and go overseas.

Anyhow, back to what Madrid defenders Pepe and Alvaro Arbeloa had to say on the rumours.

Arbeloa told reporters: “Modric is a great player. I’m happy he could join Real Madrid. We have many good midfielders, so they have to compete for a spot.”

Pepe was kept his reply short: “I know he’s a good player.”
