Mohamed Salah congratulates Son Heung-min on Golden Boot

Mohamed Salah has congratulated Son Heung-min after the pair shared the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

Son was one goal behind Salah heading into Tottenham’s final game of the season against Norwich City.

After being denied on a couple of occasions by Tim Krul, the South Korean had the last laugh as he netted a brace to end the campaign with 23 Premier League goals.

Salah also found the back of the net for Liverpool in their 3-1 win over Wolves on Sunday, which meant the Liverpool and Tottenham forwards shared the Golden Boot award.

However, while the Egyptian’s tally was helped by the fact that he is the Reds’ penalty taker, Son scored all of his goals from open play, with Harry Kane being on penalty duties for Spurs.

Reuters posted a video of Son landing in South Korea with his Golden Boot to a lot of fanfare, and Salah responded by congratulating the Spurs star. Son then replied in kind by thanking his goalscoring rival.

Going by Son’s trajectory since he arrived at Spurs, one can expect him to get even more goals next season, in what will be Tottenham’s first full season under Conte.

So, the likes of Salah and Kane will have to contend with competition from the South Korean for the Golden Boot next season as well.
