‘Momentum’ – Robbie Savage predicts the Tottenham vs Chelsea score

Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea on Monday night in what promises to be a fascinating London derby, and Robbie Savage reckons Spurs can maintain their unbeaten run with a win against the Blues.

Ange Postecoglou could hardly have asked for a better start to his career as Spurs manager, with eight wins and two draws putting his side top of the Premier League table after ten games.

The Lilywhites enjoy a two-point lead at the top right now, but by the time they take on Chelsea on Monday, they may well have lost their place at the summit depending on Arsenal and Manchester City’s results this weekend.

The upcoming London derby will be particularly interesting as it marks the return of Mauricio Pochettino. Sacked in 2019, the popular former Spurs boss now leads the club’s fierce rivals in West London.

Chelsea are struggling for consistency right now, though, and come into the game on the wrong side of mid-table.

Robbie Savage backs Big Ange for the win

Sharing his thoughts with Football365, Robbie Savage has backed Spurs to keep up their positive run.

He said: “The momentum is with Spurs, their brand of football is brilliant. People are saying can Spurs now win the Premier League?

“Chelsea, they can’t score goals. I know they got a couple in the Carabao Cup against Blackburn but no goals last week against Brentford, they are struggling to score goals in the Premier League. Will they score against Spurs? I’m not so sure they will.

“Look at the momentum, the way they are playing and Spurs are full of confidence. Spurs don’t usually win this game, they’ve only won two out of the last 13. I think it’ll be three out of 14. Big Ange to win this game, Spurs to win this game. I’m going 2-0.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m always wary of Chelsea as they seem to have a habit of beating us, but they certainly look far less intimidating than they have in years. It’s a tricky one to predict, but I’ll go for a cagey 1-1 draw.
