There has been a mixed reaction from the Tottenham fans on social media after several journalists revealed that the club’s clash against Fulham this evening has been postponed in light of COVID cases.
Reports first emerged yesterday that the game may not go ahead due to the positive tests. However, the Premier League did not provide any confirmation on the matter, much to Jose Mourinho’s displeasure.
Multiple journalists revealed on social media that the game had indeed been called off due to the positive tests at Fulham which was later confirmed by Tottenham.
Some Spurs fans believe that the right decision has been reached and suggested that this could be a positive as the players would get a few days of extra rest.
However, others worried that the postponement of the match could lead to fixture congestion in the coming weeks and months, especially since Tottenham are also set to begin their FA Cup campaign next month.
Timing of it is disappointing.

And yet pointless international friendlies will still happen before the end of the season.
Not sure where this game gets fitted in
City and Villa have to fit 2 games in— Alex (@alexleyton2021) December 30, 2020
Idk how anyone can see this as a good thing
More fixture congestion later in the season . Sigh.

Obviously hope all of the affected players are okay. That said:
Con: Won’t be able to watch Tottenham Hotpur play tonight.
Pro: Our players can get a much needed rest…. and we won’t have to watch Tottenham Hotspur play tonight.#THFC #COYS https://t.co/vNih2GtRMy

No set pieces in the 80th+ minute = no dropped points 🙌🙌🙌 #COYS https://t.co/wdWGQroPcQ

As suspected. Like I said, better safe than sorry but a win tonight would’ve really helped the mood at the club right now. Need to prepare and be ready for Leeds. #COYS https://t.co/S1YnrhIsZl

Spurs Web Opinion
It is inexcusable for the Premier League to have delayed the announcement until just hours before kick-off. I personally do not think this is a positive for us as three points this evening would have taken us back into the top four and given everyone a boost heading into the new year.
