A new report has shed light on Aston Villa’s stance on the future of Tottenham Hotspur target Morgan Rogers.
It was reported last summer that Spurs were prepared to offer ‘crazy money’ for Morgan Rogers, but he ended up staying put at Villa Park.
The Lilywhites eventually secured the services of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, but their interest in the Villa star has seemingly not gone away.
Just a few days ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Rogers remains a ‘dream target’ for Spurs this summer, but a new update suggests that getting the player out of Villa Park will be far from easy.

Tottenham target Morgan Rogers’ Aston Villa future
It has now been revealed by Football Insider that interest in the England international is starting to mount from the Premier League elite ahead of the summer.
There is an expectation that Rogers’ reputation will grow further after this summer’s World Cup, but a summer deal for the player will not be easy to complete.
The report says that Villa’s ability to hold onto Rogers will not depend on them achieving Champions League qualification.
The Midlands club are under no pressure to sell the former Middlesbrough man, and that is ‘highly unlikely to change’ even if they miss out on the riches of the Champions League.’
Spurs may need to turn to more realistic targets
Rogers is not the only player described as a ‘dream’ singing for Tottenham this summer, with Adam Wharton also thought to be at the top of the Lilywhites’ wishlist.
While supporters will be pleased to hear that the club are keen on signing players of the highest calibre, the reality is that Spurs are not an attractive destination for the elite players.
After two back-to-back poor Premier League finishes, Tottenham may be forced to recalibrate their targets and turn to more realistic options.
