‘Most professional’ – Hugo Lloris opens up on ‘great relationship’ with Harry Kane

Hugo Lloris has praised the work ethic of Harry Kane and says it is a ‘great pleasure’ to work alongside the England captain at Tottenham.

The pair are two of the longest-serving players in the Spurs dressing room, with Lloris now in his tenth season in North London.

The 35-year-old recently penned a two-year contract extension keeping him at the club until 2024, dissipating rumours he could depart as a free agent this summer (ESPN).

Lloris is part of a Spurs side that has lacked consistency this season, with head coach Antonio Conte tasked with providing a steady platform to end the campaign strongly.

Whether or not Tottenham are able to make a push for the top four and Champions League football could come down to whether Harry Kane is able to consistently find the back of the net.

Having struggled for much of the opening part of the campaign, he has gradually turned things around in recent weeks and has looked like the danger man we are all used to.

Lloris believes it is an honour to work alongside one of the best strikers in the world at Spurs and says they have a good working relationship being respective national team captains.

Speaking to The Times, Lloris said: “Harry is one of the best strikers in the world.

“Training with him, yes he makes me demand even more from myself because he’s so clinical in front of goal but also Harry’s one of the most professional players I’ve played with. There’s no secret in sport: hard work with talent makes the difference.

“It’s a great challenge to be with Harry every day in training. It’s also a great pleasure to share the changing room and to share our vision because he has an important place at Spurs.

“He’s the captain of England and we know we can count on each other. That’s important. We have a great relationship.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Lloris and Kane are clearly two leading figures in the Tottenham dressing room as they have been around the club for a considerable amount of time. They are two players who are likely wanting to achieve silverware more than anyone, and they will be the ones the others will turn to for guidance in key moments.
