Most Spurs fans won’t like what Arsenal legend has said about Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale is currently having a tough season at Real Madrid, as he has found himself mostly on the bench after returning from injury.

Although the Welsh International has netted 13 goals so far this campaign, there have been question marks over his attitude.

Bale has been linked with a summer move back to the Premier League with Tottenham and Manchester United said to be interested in acquiring his services. With Real Madrid claimed to be holding an interest in Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen, a swap deal has also been mooted between the sides. (Source: Marca)

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has now weighed in on Bale’s situation and has said that this is likely to be the 29-year-old’s last season with the Los Blancos. However, Pires made another suggestion that won’t sit well with Spurs fans.

The former Arsenal man implored the Gunners to try and sign Bale in the summer.

Speaking to BWin, Pires said, “I think there’s a good chance Gareth Bale might be playing his last season at Real Madrid. He is having a very tough time on and off the pitch at the moment, and there are a lot of questions about how settled he is in the dressing room and how appreciated he is by the fans.

“You can see that Bale is an unhappy player at the moment.I think coming back to the Premier League is the most logical step for Gareth Bale.

“There’s an assumption that he would go back to Tottenham, but I would encourage Arsenal to open the door to the Emirates for him. I know Tottenham fans would not be happy, but Bale would be very welcome at Arsenal. I hope the club tries to see if it is an option this summer.”
