Mourinho and Tottenham star both nominated for November Premier League awards

November has been a fantastic month for Tottenham Hotspur, with the North Londoners picking up wins against Brighton, West Brom and Manchester City, before holding Chelsea to a draw at Stamford Bridge.

It is a run of results that has left Tottenham at the top of the Premier League table, with many now starting to take them seriously as title contenders.

It is thus unsurprising that Jose Mourinho has been nominated for the Manager of the Month award for November along with Frank Lampard, David Moyes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There were still many people who were doubting Spurs’ ability to challenge for the league at the end of October, particularly after the manner in which the North Londoners’ threw away a three-goal lead against West Ham.

Question marks were raised about Tottenham’s defensive capabilities but they have been well and truly answered, with Spurs conceding just one goal in the entirety of November.

While Tottenham’s backline deserves credit for their showing, one man who has arguably been the most important factor to their improved defensive displays is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has shielded the back four expertly.

The midfielder has been nominated for the Player of the Month award along with Ben Chilwell, Bruno Fernandes, Jack Grealish, Angelo Ogbonna and James Ward-Prowse.
