Tottenham Hotspur are still without a striker in their squad after the nasty injury to Harry Kane that was sustained almost exactly one month ago.
However, despite having a whole month to source a replacement forward, Daniel Levy has so far come up with nothing.
Spurs have been linked with a whole host of striking talents from around the world, but as we tick towards the deadline today, there is still yet to be a signing.
Fans would have awoken to yet more Gareth Bale reports this morning, as it was claimed that Tottenham were trying to get a last-minute deal for their former winger (Times).
However, both Zinedine Zidane and Bale’s agent have since ruled out such a move, so there will be no January reunion for the Welshman.
Jose Mourinho refused to talk about Gareth Bale in his press conference today, but did admit that he doubted Spurs would make another signing.
He also added that it was difficult to play for months on end without a single striker.
Charlie Eccleshare reports that Jose said:
On Bale: If you want to speak about Man City, I am here.
I don’t think we will sign anyone before the end of the month.
