Mourinho calls out two Spurs stars for not showing enough intensity

Tottenham Hotspur had a huge chance to reduce the gap to Chelsea this evening as they faced an away trip to the Emirates in the North London Derby.

With the Blues having dropped points against Leeds earlier this weekend, a win would be valuable in Spurs’ pursuit of the top four places and Champions League next season.

Unfortunately for Spurs fans everywhere, the Lilywhites didn’t turn up at all in the most recent North London Derby, falling to a 2-1 defeat against the Gunners.

Tottenham actually took the lead against the run of play in the first half when Erik Lamela, who came on for the injured Heung-min Son, found the back of the net in sensational fashion with a rabona.

However, Spurs conceded just before the breakthrough a deflected Martin Odegaard effort and Alexandre Lacazette added a second from the spot when he was adjudged to have been fouled by Davinson Sanchez.

After the match, Dan Kilpatrick reported that Mourinho revealed that Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli were introduced because Tanguy Ndombele and Gareth Bale lacked intensity and didn’t press well enough.
