Mourinho claims he’s told club he wants two academy starlets in first-team next season

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Jose Mourinho, claims that he has informed the club of his desire to include two academy starlets in his first-team squad for the 2020/21 season.

Mourinho named Dennis Cirkin and Harvey White as the two players in question, with each of them having appeared on the bench for the Special One this season (Alasdair Gold).

Cirkin is an 18-year-old left-back who appeared on the bench against Everton just this week, nudging Ryan Sessegnon out of the matchday squad.

The teenager is known as a full-back who reads the game well and loves to get forward in attack. He managed seven goals in the 2017/18 season for the under-16s (Tottenham).

Harvey White was a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season tour last year and impressed both in central midfield and covering at full-back. The 18-year-old is also known as somewhat of a free-kick specialist.

This comes after Mourinho has already handed chances this season to Oliver Skipp, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Japhet Tanganga, and Troy Parrott.

Alasdair Gold reported that Mourinho claimed: “The easiest way for them to develop is to trust them at the most demanding level.”
