‘We are losing 1-0 at half-time’ – Mourinho looks ahead to crucial RB Leipzig CL clash

Tottenham Hotspur are 1-0 down at half-time against RB Leipzig in their Champions League knockout round tie after losing their home leg in North London.

Leipzig bring a crucial away goal to Germany that will mark them as favourites heading into the game this week, although the tie is far from over.

Spurs fans won’t have to look back far to remember the comebacks against both Man City and Ajax on the run to the final last year.

Lucas Moura, the hero of Amsterdam, will likely have some part to play against Leipzig as Jose Mourinho is now without Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, and Steven Bergwijn for the game. Over recent weeks, Mourinho has deployed Moura and Alli as strikers, alongside Bergwijn.

However, the Spurs head coach was keen to point out that they were only halfway through the match and that there are plenty of ways to score a goal without Kane and Son.

He said (Football London): “We are losing 1-0 at half-time. We were losing 1-0 at half-time two days ago. It’s something that’s happened to use a few times this season. You ask me how can you score two goals without Kane, Son, Bergwijn. There are many ways to score goals. A Leipzig player could even do what Antonio Rudiger did and score for us.

“The achievement that stay for history are the victories. Of course, it would be amazing if we did it but it’s like when you lose a final you throw away the medal. My biggest achievements in the competition were when I won it.”
