Mourinho comments on whether Parrott and Sessegnon can fill in for injured Son

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt yet more bad luck in the striker department this morning as Heung Min Son is set to undergo surgery.

The forward fractured his arm early on against Aston Villa, before choosing to play on and scoring a penalty and a 93rd-minute winner to bag all three points.

However, the South Korean will likely not be hitting the back of the net for a good while now, as Spurs say he will be sidelined for weeks. Other sources predict that it will be more like months.

In terms of other options, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn can both cover as strikers, but both primarily operate on the wings.

Troy Parrott remains a youth option, but Spurs fans should not expect to see him out on the pitch regularly any time soon.

Mourinho has claimed again that the Irishman is not ready, while adding that Ryan Sessegnon is not a striker.

He said (Football London): “My thoughts are that Troy Parrott is not ready and Ryan Sessegnon is not a striker.”
