Mourinho gives positive update on Dele Alli injury after Sterling tackle

Tottenham Hotspur come up against Southampton this week in the FA Cup fourth round replay after the two sides could not be separated last month.

Spurs visited St Mary’s twice in January, first losing 1-0 on New Years Day, followed by a 1-1 result in the FA Cup.

The Lilywhites looked to be in full control of the game against the Saints as they looked to progress through to the fifth round, but conceded an 87th-minute equaliser to force a replay.

Although Tanguy Ndombele is now back from injury, Dele Alli is a doubt for the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this mid-week after a nasty challenge from Raheem Sterling at the weekend.

The Man City man went over the top of the ball and crunched down onto Dele’s ankle in the 2-0 Spurs win over the Premier League title holders.

However, Jose Mourinho has now given a positive update on Alli’s injury, stating that it is not that bad and he could play against Southampton.
