Mourinho issues injury update regarding Sergio Reguilon and Dele Alli

Tottenham fans will be fretting over Harry Kane’s injury after the striker went off at half time against Liverpool yesterday with an ankle problem.

Jose Mourinho confirmed after the game that the striker had a problem in both of his ankles and he would not have come off if it was not serious.

While there is no official news as of yet regarding the severity of the England captain’s injury, Mourinho has provided an update on both Sergio Reguilon and Dele Alli.

It was reported before the clash against Liverpool that Reguilon had picked up a muscle injury and could be sidelined for a few weeks.

When asked how long the left-back was likely to be out for and when he picked up the injury, the Tottenham boss told Football.London: “Three weeks/one month. I don’t know. When? In training. The day after Wycombe.”

Meanwhile, the speculation linking Alli with a move to Paris Saint-Germain shows no signs of slowing down as we enter the final few days of the transfer window.

Mourinho has now confirmed that he does not expect the 24-year-old to be fit to make the trip to Brighton on Sunday.

When asked whether Alli could make the trip to the Amex, the Portuguese coach said: “Don’t think so, he’s injured.

“I don’t know (when he will be back). He’s not even training with the team, so I don’t believe that in a couple of days he will be ready.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Mourinho’s decision to go with a back three against Liverpool even though Reguilon was not available was a big call and it certainly backfired. I expect the Spurs boss to switch to a back four on Sunday. With respect to Alli, the situation does seem suspicious given the speculation surrounding his future in recent weeks.
