Mourinho makes big claim when asked whether he blames Lloris for Palace equaliser

Tottenham had a chance to go three points clear of reigning champions Liverpool today with a win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

However, it was the home fans that had something to cheer about come the final whistle as their side came from behind to take home a point.

Spurs took a deserved lead into the half-time break thanks to a 25-yard Harry Kane strike, but surrendered the initiative in the second 45 and invited pressure.

The straw that broke Tottenham’s back turned out to be a dangerous Eze free-kick with ten minutes left on the clock, with Lloris saving the initial flick on only for Schlupp to tap home.

When asked whether he blames his number one for conceding the equaliser, Mourinho claimed that Lloris is currently the best keeper in the Premier League. He added that, if anyone must accept the blame for the two dropped points, it should be the team.

Mourinho said (Alasdair Gold): “My goalkeeper is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, the best in the Premier League period. If I have to blame anyone it’s the team.”
