Mourinho on meeting Son’s parents and what nickname his own son has given him

Heung Min Son and Jose Mourinho certainly seem to be a match made in heaven for Spurs, as the South Korean is hitting top form for the North London side.

Sonny was among the goals again today against Burnley in a 5-0 win for his side, scoring in sensational fashion.

The South Korean picked the ball up in the Tottenham defensive third, before motoring past countless Burnley players, going through on goal, and making no mistake.

The goal will surely go down as one of the very best of the season.

Son has been in sensational form since Mourinho took over as manager, and Jose has now revealed that he even met the winger’s parents this week.

Not only this, but Mourinho’s real son has adopted a nickname handed to Sonny by a number of Spurs fans, namely Sonaldo.

Spurs fans will be hoping to see this relationship blossom throughout the season.

Mourinho said (Football London): “Even before the goal, my son calls him Sonaldo after Ronaldo Luís Nazário. The only thing that comes to my mind is the goal when I had the honour of being next to Sir Bobby Robson in 1996 when Ronaldo scored a wonderful goal.

“From the outside I had a feeling. I remember speaking to Sir Alex about Ji Sung Park. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. They’re very coachable. The kid is fantastic. I’m very happy, so happy.

“My experience with him is fantastic. Yesterday I met both of his parents and I understand also where it comes from. The kid is so fantastic. I’m so happy.”
