Mourinho on the role Dele and Bale can play for Spurs before the end of the season

Jose Mourinho has claimed that Gareth Bale and Dele Alli can both still make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spurs boss was asked about the pair after watching side suffer a comfortable 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

The defeat means that Tottenham have lost four of their last five Premier League games, as many defeats as in their previous 28 league matches.

Bale looked lively when he came off the bench and nearly found the back of the net after displaying some good footwork to create space for a shot on goal.

Mourinho stressed that good players who are fit and mentally ready to play, it only improves his squad.

The Welshman missed Wednesday night’s FA Cup loss at Everton with Mourinho admitting the was surprised not to be able to call upon the 31-year-old (Guardian).

Dele has recently come back into Mourinho’s plans after holding clear the air talks with the Portuguese.

Mourinho told Football.London when asked if the pair can help his side to secure a top four place: “Good players when they are fit and ready and they can are always welcome. We coaches sometimes we can make wrong decisions, we all do. Not one of us is crazy. Not one of us says I don’t want this player to help me and the team when the player has the potential and the conditions to do it.

“Do they have the qualities? Yes they have and we know they have. If they are fit, ready and consider themselves physically and mentally ready, welcome because the team needs everyone. We miss Gio for a long, long time. We miss Reguilon for a few weeks. If we can have them back, if we can have Dele and Gareth fit and ready to play, it’s a big improvement in our squad.”
