Mourinho plans on breaking pre-match routine during Old Trafford return

According to a report in the Daily Mail, new Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho does not plan on following through with his usual pre-match routine when he returns to Old Trafford later this evening.

The report claims that the 56-year-old has planned to meet up with several members of Manchester United’s backroom staff whom he considers friends.

Mourinho is said to have retained good relationships with several people he worked with at his former club and it is claimed that he is keen to catch up with the club chef Mike Donnelly, some members of the medical team, the kit men and ground staff.

The report also claims that the Spurs head coach is keen to avoid any hysteria and ensure that his return to Old Trafford is calm, unlike the time he returned to Stamford Bridge as the Manchester United manager in 2016.

Mourinho insisted in the pre-match press conference that he has completely moved on from his experiences at Manchester United and doesn’t look back at his time at the club with any bitterness (Football.London).

Spurs Web Opinion

While Mourinho has been extremely complimentary of his former employers in the build-up to the game, there is no doubt that he will want to get one over them by winning on Wednesday night. However, the same can be said of some of Man Utd’s players who might be extra motivated to perform in this match.
