Mourinho provides fitness update on Sergio Reguilon ahead of North London Derby

Jose Mourinho has now provided an update on the fitness of Sergio Reguilon ahead of the North London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

The Spanish left-back, signed from Real Madrid in the summer, missed Tottenham’s last outing in Austria as the Lilywhites played out a 3-3 draw against LASK in the Europa League.

Mourinho revealed ahead of that match that Erik Lamela, Harry Kane, Carlos Vinicius, and Sergio Reguilon were all injured.

While the Spurs head coach claimed that Lamela would likely be out for three weeks, he added that the other three were in contention to return against the Gunners.

In his latest press conference quotes, as reported by Football London, Mourinho has claimed that he now expects Reguilon to play against Arsenal tomorrow.

The Special One admitted that his left-back had a small injury problem that kept him out on Thursday, highlighting again that he was not rested for tactical reasons.

On whether Reguilon would be available, Mourinho said: “I believe so. He had a little problem. He was not available. It was not like I wanted to protect him. He had a problem but it’s the kind of problem that I can say I expect him to play.”
