Jose Mourinho revealed last night that he hoped Harry Kane would be available to play against Arsenal at the weekend in the latest North London Derby.

Kane started the Europa League match against Dinamo Zagreb in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, scoring two goals in the comfortable 2-0 victory.

The England captain started a Spurs move with a brilliant forward pass before catching up with play in time to tap home Erik Lamela’s rebound after it hit the post.

Kane then latched onto a defensive mistake from Zagreb in the box, making half a yard of space and finishing between the centre-back’s legs into the far corner of the net.

It was a vintage Harry Kane performance but it looked to have ended in tears when the striker was taken off ten minutes early to have ice strapped to his knee.

However, Mourinho later revealed that he expected Kane to play against Arsenal and that only a big problem would stop that from happening.

He said (Football London): “I hope so and I believe so. You know, it’s a big match. I think only a big problem would stop him from being there, which I don’t think it is. But let’s see the reaction tomorrow but hopefully, he’ll be fine.”
