Reports emerged last week stating that Juan Foyth had sustained a knee injury in Tottenham training, thus ruling him out of the Manchester United match squad.
The report also revealed that Spurs were waiting to see whether the Argentine would need surgery on the injury before he could make a return (TNT Sports).
Football Insider also recently reported that Leeds United are keen on signing Juan Foyth from Tottenham in the summer to bolster their centre-back options.
Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a keen admirer of the young Argentine, although the report did not outline whether the deal would be a purchase or a loan.
Mourinho has now claimed that reports indicating that Foyth may need surgery are premature and that he hopes to have the 22-year-old back before the end of the season.
Alasdair Gold from Football London also reported that Mourinho mentioned Foyth as a right-back option in his Zoom pre-match press conference.
Mourinho told me he hopes to have Juan Foyth back for some games this season and that reports from Argentina that he needs knee surgery are premature. He mentioned him as a back-up to Serge Aurier at RB, along with Tanganga, when talking about the one position he has injuries in.
