Mourinho provides update on Heung-min Son injury and South Korea call-up

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Heung-min Son is definitely out injured for the trip to Croatia on Thursday as Spurs face Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Son was removed from action after around 20 minutes against Arsenal at the weekend when he pulled up with a muscle injury following a sprint in behind.

The South Korean was replaced by Erik Lamela who went on to score an incredible robona goal in the first half, then get sent off in the second.

Football London reported yesterday that Heung-min Son’s injury was not as bad as first feared and that he could even appear against Aston Villa next time out in the Europa League.

Son was also called up to the South Korea squad for their friendly against Japan this month, but Mourinho has claimed that there is nothing the national side can do if Spurs prove that the winger is injured.

When asked when Son would be back, Mourinho said in his press conference today (Football London): “I don’t know. Definitely out for tomorrow.

“If a player is injured. It doesn’t matter if it’s a friendly or an official match. If we get to next week and he is injured and we can prove that to the Korean football association then what can they do. If he can’t play for the club, he can’t play for his country.”
