Mourinho reacts to Harry Winks transfer rumours – Reveals whether he could leave

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Jose Mourinho has ruled out any January transfer window departure for Harry Winks, amidst rumours that Valencia are interested in him.

Reports emerged this week that Tottenham had already rejected a loan proposal for Winks from the Spanish club, with Valencia returning with a second offer.

Guillem Balague also revealed on social media that Jose Mourinho does not want Harry Winks in North London anymore.

While Winks found playing time hard to come by at the start of the season, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko the preferred midfield pairing, he has since started the last two Premier League games.

Mourinho also revealed that Winks would be selected in the squad again tomorrow to face Fulham in the re-arranged Premier League fixture.

Sky Sports reported yesterday that Tottenham have no intentions of letting Winks leave the club in January. It certainly seems as though Mourinho has now also shut that down.

On Winks rumours, Mourinho said (Football London): “(Laughs) What do I have to say to stop with this talk? I said already that he’s going nowhere. When I say he’s going nowhere, what more do you want me to say? He played the last matches. He didn’t play the last one because it was a chance to let players like Gedson get minutes. Tomorrow he’s selected again. If someone’s talking to other clubs I’d say don’t waste your time.”
