Mourinho reacts to rearranged fixture before Carabao Cup Final

Tottenham Hotspur fans will now have just two aims for the season ahead, making the top four in the Premier League and winning the Carabao Cup.

Spurs were without Champions League football this season and went crashing out of the Europa League, while the club has been trophyless for the past 13 years since a 2008 League Cup Final win over Chelsea.

This year, the Lilywhites come face to face with the seemingly unstoppable Pep Guardiola in the final, although Tottenham were one of the last Premier League sides to beat his Man City team.

The final is due to take place at Wembley on April 25 and Spurs may have been expecting to have a full week to prepare for the game.

However, recent fixture rearrangements revealed that Tottenham would now play Southampton on April 21, just days before the final (Mirror).

The Mirror reported this week that Mourinho had been left unhappy with this decision but he played it cool when asked in his press conference today.

He said (Jonathan Veal): “I am happy that it is Wednesday, I thought it could have been Thursday or Friday. It is nothing that surprises me.”
