Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder, Dele Alli, was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons during the winter break last week.
Alli posted a video of himself on social media in which he is wearing a face mask, before poking fun at the recent coronavirus outbreak and a random Asian man who happened to be on the same flight as him (Mirror).
The midfield man quickly deleted the video and issued an apology to his fans and anyone who was offended by his actions.
However, the backlash may not end with people calling him out on social media and in the news, as it has been claimed that the FA are now investigating the incident.
The Daily Mail reported than a match ban could be on the cards for Dele, and the FA have contacted him directly for his own thoughts on the offensive post.
Jose Mourinho responded to the post today in his press conference for the first time.
He said (Alasdair Gold):
“It was a simple conversation. I can say that he regrets and that for me is the best feeling he can show and to apologise is remarkable because sometimes these people don’t realise they make mistakes.”
