Mourinho reveals he has had ‘long conversation’ with Troy Parrott this week

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of talented youngsters in the academy but few shine as bright as Troy Parrott at the moment.

The 17-year-old striker has had a superb season for club and country so far, starting with an impressive pre-season tournament in Asia with Spurs.

The youngster has gone on to earn his full Spurs debut and Premier League debut this season, as well as being called up to both the U21 and senior Republic of Ireland sides.

Parrott has perhaps become even more relevant in the past couple of weeks as Harry Kane was forced to undergo surgery on his left hamstring.

The Irishman is really Tottenham’s only other out-and-out striker at the club at the moment, since Llorente and Janssen both left in the summer.

Mourinho has now revealed that he had a long conversation with Parrott today, stating that minutes will come but it is a process.

He said (Alasdair Gold): “I had a long conversation with him today so I am ready to share with you. I think he has potential. I think he has to work very hard. Can he have minutes? Yes, but to put pressure on his shoulders in this time I don’t think he’s ready.”
