Mourinho reveals how he is working with Levy and Spurs’ chief scout

New Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is very much enjoying life in North London.

The 56-year-old who was appointed a week and a half ago begun life at Tottenham with three wins from his first three outings.

However, it is not just on the pitch that Mourinho has made an impact but on the training ground as well.

The Daily Mail reported on how training sessions were much sharper and there is a better feeling at the club since the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss replaced Mauricio Pochettino.

The Portuguese has also revealed that he is quite enjoying the structure of the club as well as the way people work.

Mourinho claimed that he enjoys working in close proximity with the people involved in the main areas of the club.

Football.London quotes the Tottenham boss as saying: “Everybody is around me. Mr Levy is next door to me, his office is next door to me. Everyday I need him he is there. He needs me, I’m there. Then the chief scout [Steve Hitchen] is the next door. I meet him everyday. If I want to speak he’s there. If he wants to speak with me, I’m here. The academy boss [John McDermott] three doors [down]. Everything is close, it’s commitment.

“We arrive here early in the morning, we leave late in the afternoon. I like very much this kind of empathy and the way we are working. And, again, very, very important, I like the players. Very important.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Mourinho is certainly saying all the right things and seems to genuinely be pleased to be at the club. However, we know from his history that he is always happy towards the beginning of his tenure at clubs and only starts throwing veiled complaints when results don’t go his way. So the big test will come when the team goes through a difficult spell. Hopefully, we don’t have to worry about that anytime soon.
